Apparently I'm the only schmuck who thinks this is a damn catchy song. I realize it's kind of emo and wordy and everything (i.e., a rorie kelly song) but the chorus, man, the chorus? No? I guess not. It also rolls in at two minutes and fifty-two seconds: very radio friendly, but if you still can't deal, fine. Go spend six and a half minutes of your life on Sincere instead. Everyone seems to like that one.

gray starlight

how does it feel to mean it this time?
desperate today wafts into desperate tonight
oh, and there was no
"oh, how the years go
glad that you're back," on your side
you are distracted and distressed and i am killing time

and tonight beckons tomorrow night
closer now but without the eye contact
nothing like feeling all right

and while we are on the subject of patterns
why don't i throw off my whole life for you?
why don't i just stop thinking
and just give to you
into the morning
and where are my feelings, now that i'm home in bed?

and tonight beckons tomorrow night
history i thought i had right
nothing like feeling all right

i'd like to welcome you to your new mythology
'cause you're still mine and i'm still all empaathy
and you're feeling so much that there's no room left for me
and you're feeling so much that there's no room left for me

and tonight beckons tomorrow night
closer now but without the fireworks
nothing like feeling all right

tonight beckons tomorrow night
colder now in the gray starlight
nothing like feeling all right
